Sound has always fascinated me from an early age and I knew it was something I wanted to explore.  I started learning audio at my parent’s church when I was in 6th grade and continued through high school.  I was very blessed that my public schools were pushing the envelope with technology in the late 80s and 90s with opportunities for audio / video electives.  I helped produce many school TV shows.  After high school I attended DeAnza College and then San Francisco State University and obtained my BA in Cinema.  For the last 20 + years I’ve been making videos sound better and helping people tell their stories.  I’ve worked on a wide range of projects from several student films, religious productions, corporate work for Google, Genentech, Microsoft, TV for ESPN all the way to feature films; one of which I was the supervising sound editor for that I did in conjunction with Skywalker Sound.  Sound is very powerful and necessary.  It’s often the most understood part of the filmmaking journey but how well you finish audio post speaks to your professionalism.  I continue to work on all kinds of projects and have been blessed with many opportunities to still help students learn.

Jenny Klukken is a percussionist and educator based in Minneapolis, where she earned her degree in percussion performance at the University of Minnesota. Primarily performing today as a marimbist, Jenny combines her classical percussion background with her passion for folk/jazz/world music and improvisation. She bridges the gap between virtuosic and precise repertoire with live, creative, and adaptive music-making. In 2012, Jenny co-founded the percussion group Matra, an innovative percussion ensemble that performs original compositions.  In May of 2017, Matra released its first full length album that features 3 compositions and arrangements by Jenny. This album is available on all streaming services, entitled “Matra”.

Jenny engages in the world music scene through her project "Marimba Nova", which is dedicated to incorporating marimba into Brazilian jazz music. This group primarily features Jenny on marimba, alongside singer/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Robert Everest and percussionist Andrew Turpening. Her latest project is leading the quartet "Work Wife", an all-female group that consists of marimba (Klukken), tabla (Krissy Bergmark), cello (Olivia Diercks), and violin (Karla Colahan). This group plays a wide range of styles and many original works written by Klukken herself.  Jenny teaches percussion at MacPhail Center for Music and Chanhassen High School, and is an endorsed artist by Marimba One of Arcata, California.
